“The perfect beauty is an expression of perfect health which is nothing but the perfect alignment of a Healthy Body, a Peaceful Mind, Agile Senses and a Blissful Soul.”
Beauty is the most desired element of human life. And it stands true irrespective of era, geography, community, religion, race, gender, age and colour. Everyone wishes to be beautiful and has a fundamental right to do so. Apart from a high level of self-respect and self-pride, beauty begets many social advantages. Many experts engaged in psychosocial studies, have revealed that beautiful people are treated better than unattractive people. Various studies have consistently concluded that attractive people get favourable treatment mostly everywhere and most of the times. They are more accepted in their peer groups, they get better treatment in public places such as stores, restaurants, malls, parks, and public transport services. Beautiful candidates are also hired more often and get higher pays.
But what is beauty or what it means to be beautiful? Although, this question seems to be simple, a single straight answer is difficult. Because, many people have perceived and defined beauty in many different ways, and all of them are true, as the term beauty itself has several facets and aspects. One can easily find or recall various quotes and sayings about beauty.
There are individuals, naturally blessed with beauty by birth. And, we see such stunning personalities around us, some enter the entertainment world, some shine in other glamorous fields, some become beauty icons for masses. But, then, what about others, who are not born gorgeous but aspire to look attractive or beautiful. Should they not try to enhance their beauty? Yes, why not!! Certainly, they are entitled to have a more beautiful version of their self. And so, we are here, to help them fulfil their wish. We are here to encourage them and guide them to accomplish what they desire and that too, in a more natural and irrefutably safe way.
We, at OOJ Ayurved (ओज आयुर्वेद) have a strong conviction in Holistic (Sampoorna) approach of beauty i. e. complete beauty and not in parts. The concept of complete beauty encompasses both outer and inner beauty, and, we believe that the outer beauty should radiate itself from the inner beauty. As it is said, “Beauty is just skin deep and it fades away with time.” Therefore, we focus to “Create and Cultivate Inner Beauty that never fades away but grows and matures with Time!” as said by Deodatta V. Shenai-Khatkhate. And the only way to cultivate the inner beauty is by achieving Swasthya, the pure health. As mentioned in ancient text of Sushruta Samhita, Ayurveda defines Swasthya as,
After translating and simplifying it means, “when the functional elements are in balance, metabolic fire is good, all structural elements are proper, all excretory functions are normal and when mind, senses and soul are blissful then a person is said to be Swastha (perfectly healthy)”. Even the World Health Organisation (WHO) has adopted its definition of health from the above verse. Health, according to the WHO, is “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.”
As cited by William Shenstone, “Health is beauty, and the most perfect health is the most perfect beauty.”
And, this is at the core of our philosophy, that – “the perfect beauty is an expression of perfect health which is nothing but the perfect alignment of a Healthy Body, a Peaceful Mind, Agile Senses and a Blissful Soul.” All our efforts are oriented to help people to gain eternal internal beauty rather than momentary external beauty. The important first step towards achieving perfect health is getting closer to nature and adapting a natural mode of living.
Many people are realizing that living in lap of nature brings a lot of positive impact on physical and mental health. Those who are financially capable, are investing in weekend homes in the vicinity of nature, far away from polluted cities or towns and spending a good time in a week or fortnight to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. Although, this is not possible for everyone, one can acclimatize a lifestyle that can bring oneself closer to nature. Ayurveda is the unique life science that teaches the ideal way of natural living.
